What restrictions are there due to the current special situation?

We spare no effort to make the best days of the year as safe and relaxed as possible. With consideration, personal responsibility and team spirit, we can do it! You can find more information about the current precautionary measures here.

Are you also open in the summer?

Hotel Schneider is a winter-only establishment and is open from the end of November to the end of April.

We offer the apartments*** in the neighbouring building for self-catering in summer. You can find more information here.

Where is Obertauern situated?

Obertauern is located in Salzburger Land at an altitude of approx. 1,750 metres. The city of Salzburg is approx. 90 km, Munich 220 km and Vienna around 300 km away.

How high is Obertauern?

The skiing area of Obertauern lies between 1,630 metres and 2,313 metres above sea level.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

On your day of arrival, your room or suite is available from 3pm and your apartment from 4pm. On the day of departure, we kindly ask you to vacate your room by 11am.

Where can one park?

One underground parking space per room is available free of charge. For an additional underground parking space we charge €15,00 per day.

How high is the underground car park?

The underground car park in the hotel and also in the neighbouring apartment building is 2.30 metres high.

Is there childcare?

Children are very welcome. Hotel Schneider has a children’s and youth playroom and a children’s cinema. We can organise childcare or a babysitter on request. Price on request.

Are dogs allowed at Hotel Schneider?

We ask for your understanding that pets are not allowed for hygienic reasons.

Are there toboggans for children to borrow?

We are happy to provide you with toboggans free of charge. You will find them in our ski cellar. Please return the toboggans there after use.

Can I buy ski passes at the hotel?

Ski passes from 1-8 days are conveniently available at the hotel reception. The price is the same as you would pay at the lift ticket office. We are happy to add the ski passes to your room bill. There is a €2 deposit for the keycard.

What are the opening hours of the swimming pool and whirlpool?

The swimming pool and whirlpool are open for you daily from 7am to 7.30pm.

What are the opening hours of the wellness area?

The saunas and steam rooms are open daily from 3 pm – 7.30 pm. On rainy days open from 1 pm on request.

Are children allowed in the nude area?

The nude area is open to young people from the age of 14.

Is there a fitness room?

There is a small fitness room with TechnoGym fitness and cardio equipment that is open for you daily from 7am to 7.30pm. The fitness room is open to children from 14 years of age.

Is an afternoon snack provided?

Our gourmet half board does not include an afternoon snack. In the Brettsteinstube and in the tower there is the opportunity to purchase snacks throughout the day.

Are bathrobes provided for children?

We are happy to provide our youngest guests with a suitable bathrobe and children’s slippers (one size).

Is there a price list?

There is no longer a standard price list. Of course, we offer Schneider’s best price guarantee to all direct bookers. Simply enquire and you will receive all available offers. You might also like one of our package deals.

Do all rooms have a balcony?

No, not all rooms have a balcony. You have the option of enjoying the sun on the terrace on the first floor or by the “Turm“.

How long is the pool?

The indoor pool is kidney-shaped and is about nine metres long.

Are there hand and bath towels in the apartments?

All apartments are fully equipped. We are also happy to provide you with a wellness bag with bathrobe and slippers.

What are the cancellation conditions?

Cancellations can only be made in writing. Austrian Hotel Regulations apply. Cancellations made up to 3 months in advance can be made free of charge. In this case the prepaid deposit will be recharged less an administration fee of EUR 50,00 per room. From 3 months to 1 month prior to arrival a cancellation fee of 40 % of booking will be made. From 1 month to 1 week prior to arrival 70 % will be charged and 1 week prior to arrival 90 % of room price and 100 % of apartment price will be charged. In case only 1 person instead of 2 booked persons arrives the supplement is 90 % of the confirmed room rate.
